You can use everyday gentle bathroom cleaning products to clean the surfaces without damaging them. Avoid abrasive products and rough sponges or cloths. Stubborn stains can be removed with a sponge and a non-abrasive liquid cleaning product sufficiently diluted with water. Limescale deposits are best removed with a suitable limescale remover. Before using a cleaning product, test it in an inconspicuous area to make sure it won’t damage the bath or its components.

 The visible components of an indoor whirlpool, for example, jets, etc., can be removed before cleaning (see the user manual for detailed instructions).

Limescale deposits are caused by evaporated water, e.g. water with a high level of hardness, on exposed areas in the toilet. Use of alkaline cleaners (=containing soap) encourages adhesion of limescale deposits. However, these can be easily removed using an acidic cleaning product (=containing acid), such as the tried-and-tested, inexpensive and well-tolerated vinegar essence.

Soaps, cosmetics, shampoos and other soapy products contain greasy substances that are best dissolved using a soap-based cleaning product (e.g. an everyday washing-up liquid).

Loss of shine or a matt appearance indicate accumulated lime soap residue. In this case, thorough treatment with vinegar-based or special limescale cleaners will restore the shine.

Villeroy & Boch whirlpool systems meet the highest safety and hygiene requirements. To guarantee hygiene, some models are fitted with special jets or have a fully automatic cleaning system that is activated when the bathwater has emptied. The pipes are then blown dry with air.
Blow-drying can also be activated manually, for example, if water gets into the system when cleaning the bath.

To guarantee safe operation, all water-based whirlpool systems are fitted with a special hair trap that prevents water intake if the drainage outlet is blocked.
