Designing a cosy bathroom – tips & ideas
There are different ways to make your bathroom feel cosy. We explain the key principles:
How to make a small bathroom feel cosy
Small bathrooms can easily be transformed into cosy retreats. Large tiles will make a small, cosy bathroom look slightly larger. They also create a more restful effect as there are fewer joints. A consistent colour scheme and lots of natural materials are ideal for a cosier feel.
Challenge: making a large bathroom feel cosy
It can be difficult to create a cosy atmosphere in large bathrooms. One solution is clever separation of different areas, as already explained for room dividers.
Use different colours in individual areas to visually break up the space. Indirect lighting arrangements work well too. These can be controlled individually to light up only the part of the bathroom you are using.
Create a relaxed atmosphere with warm light
The right lighting in the bathroom is essential to create a perfect feel-good atmosphere. Daylight is, of course, the best choice, but not every bathroom has a window. This is where warm lighting comes in. Indirect light sources will add atmospheric accents.
